Job Title: Bookkeeper (Remote - USA)
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Option Available)
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates in Washington, DC, or Charleston, SC)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EST

### About the Role
In this role, you'll handle a full range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and maintaining accurate financial records. You'll play a key role in managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the organization's financial health.
### Key Responsibilities
- Perform accounting functions in compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) accounting requirements.
- Process and reconcile staff expenses, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely reimbursements.
- Verify transactions across multiple accounts, reconcile monthly statements, and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
- Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with external accounting firms as needed.
- Review and maintain knowledge of federal travel regulations (FTRs) and General Services Administration (GSA) policies.
- Ensure compliance with internal travel and expense (T&E) policies.
- Review and process invoices for payment, ensuring proper authorization and coding.
- Manage accounts payable, vendor setup, and payment processing.
### What We're Looking For
- Required: 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Required: Direct experience with Costpoint (by Deltek) accounting system.
- Required: Experience with DCAA accounting requirements.
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience using travel and expense management systems (e.g., Concur or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
### Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Experience with WebEx, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet.
- Residents of Washington, DC, or Charleston, SC, are strongly preferred.
### Additional Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (due to contractual obligations with the U.S. Department of Defense).
- Ability to pass a security clearance screening.
