**Job Description** We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Production Machinist to join our team. The role involves assisting in the machining of large metal parts, becoming proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill, and contributing to a process-driven shop environment that produces approximately 1,200 parts a month. **Responsibilities** + Assist in machining large metal parts for production. + Operate 4-axis horizontal mills efficiently. + Change inserts and maintain cleanliness around the machine. + Work with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers. + Perform production run set-ups and use tooling, fixturing, and segment selection. + Adjust machine settings and tension on blades of bandsaws. + Position jigs or attachments to cut stock to size. + Verify dimensions of cut stock. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical inclination and interest in becoming a production machinist. + 1-3 years of machining experience. + Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, and micrometers. + Experience in CNC operation and blueprint reading. + Basic math comprehension for precise measurements. + Ability to lift 50-75lbs. + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience running 24" and 36" grinders. + Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a fantastic opportunity to start or advance your career in machining with an industrial parts manufacturer. The environment is equipped with advanced machinery and tools, fostering a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
