osition Overview:

The freelance or contract Marketing Manager is a results-driven marketing professional who will be tasked with leading our content and growth strategy across multiple social media accounts, blogs, and email campaigns. Our company runs several blog websites and social media accounts which spotlight fun, food, and lifestyle happenings in Boston. These platforms also support and promote additional business ventures within the Boston area. The Marketing Manager will need to thrive in both digital and real-world environments, and must show a track record of successfully growing audiences, boosting engagement, and executing content strategies. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for reliably growing our digital presence while also coordinating occasional in-person events. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Grow Instagram and Facebook accounts by increasing followers, engagement, and reach
• Create compelling and consistent content (posts, reels, stories) aligned with Boston culture and events
• Regularly publish blogs and drive traffic to websites
• Develop and send engaging email newsletters to our subscriber base
• Create and implement strategies for community growth and cross-promotion
• Coordinate and occasionally attend in-person events or activations
• Collaborate with partners, small businesses, and local vendors
• Track analytics, optimize performance, and report back to ownership using data trends
• Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity

Qualifications:

• Proven experience growing Instagram and Facebook accounts with measurable results
• Strong content creation and copywriting skills
• Experience growing blog audiences and managing newsletter platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Substack, Etc.)
• Comfortable organizing and executing small promotional events 
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and meet growth targets
• Familiarity with tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Suite, and newsletter platforms
• Must be based in or very familiar with Boston and its local culture
• Portfolio or case studies showing past success required

Employment Details:

• Flexible part-time contract role
• Compensation based on experience and scope of services
• Initial 3-month term, with potential for extension based on performance
