About the team

The Marketing team at Airwallex drives brand awareness and customer engagement through innovative and strategic campaigns. We work to communicate the value of our financial solutions, attract new customers, and strengthen relationships with existing ones. By leveraging data-driven insights and creative strategies, we ensure Airwallex stands out in a competitive market. Our team is passionate about telling the Airwallex story and supporting the company's growth and success.

What you’ll do

As our Global SEO Director, you’ll be at the helm of one of our most strategic growth channels, responsible for shaping and executing a global SEO strategy that doesn’t just chase traffic—but attracts, educates, and converts the right audience. You’ll own organic search targets, work across content, technical SEO, design, and product marketing teams to ensure that Airwallex dominates in search, stays ahead of algorithm shifts, and builds a scalable organic growth engine.

The role is based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Define & execute SEO strategy: Develop a global SEO strategy focused on high-intent keywords, local market nuances, and sustainable growth, beyond just following the competition.

  • Grow & lead a team: Build, mentor, and inspire a team of SEO experts, content strategists, and agencies across the globe.

  • Own Technical SEO: Partner with engineering to enhance site architecture, crawlability, and performance while optimizing for search engine algorithms.

  • Content that converts: Collaborate with content and product marketing teams to create data-driven, authoritative content that ranks and drives conversions.

  • SEO beyond Google: Experiment with emerging search channels like YouTube, ChatGPT, and AI-driven discovery platforms to future-proof our organic presence.

  • Growth experiments: Test new tactics, landing pages, and structured data strategies to improve discoverability and engagement.

  • Stakeholder influence: Educate and advocate for SEO best practices across the organization, making it a key driver of business impact.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of Marketing experience including proven successes leading and scaling SEO programs for high-growth companies with global presence, ideally in fintech, SaaS, or B2B companies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.

  • Experience optimizing for SEO in channels beyond Google.

  • Minimum of 4 years experience building and leading high performance teams.

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience driving business outcomes with SEO.

  • Deep knowledge of technical SEO, content marketing, and analytics. You can dive into site architecture and also craft compelling content strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions.

  • Ability to work seamlessly with content, engineering, product marketing, and growth teams to implement SEO initiatives.
