POSITION SUMMARY
The Epic Identity Engineer understands Epic’s security infrastructure and designs and provisions role-based security for users. This security coordinator aligns security strategy and application configuration. The Security Coordinator serves as an experienced technical team member and is a domain expert in identity and access management. This position proactively works with customers, stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineers to troubleshoot and find the root cause of technology and security defects.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work with stakeholders to design system-level access by assessing and classifying roles using Identity and Access Management tools.
- Provisions application security levels and roles
- Establishes ownership of each particular security class
- Coordinates security template and role updates and establishes a security change control process aligned to organization’s change management processes.
- Coordinates security-related activity across teams
- Creates user records and maps them to templates built by application coordinators/analysts.
- Creates appropriately shared security classifications that do not have specific application ownership.
- Creates and maintains procedures to activate, deactivate, and update user records.
- Understand the Epic software security structures, including user profiles, roles, and security classes.
- Ensure configurations meet or exceed organization security standards and be an active member of security workgroup(s).
- Manage/lead technical projects within their area of expertise. Communicates with users and management the status and completion of work requests.
- Supports, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots with the ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Certification: Epic Security is required within one year of hire
- Work Experience: Three years of experience in the delivery of relevant IT solutions or services including identity and access management, information security or security engineering.
- Work Experience in lieu of Education:
- Five years of applicable technical experience
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of concepts in Information Technology and in one or more of the following areas: Identity and Access engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or Information Security.
- Strong soft skills, verbal and written communications, including the ability to turn complex technical topics into understandable terminology
- The Security Coordinator can work independently with minimal supervision within their domain.
- Builds trust among colleagues, be a continuous learner, and focus on delivering capabilities for the customer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM field
- Certification: Current Epic Security Certification, Intermediate level security technical certification.
- Work Experience: Five years of experience preferred with healthcare or similarly complex industry
