Job Description and Duties

Under direction of the Information Technology Manager I and guidance of the Information Technology Specialist II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) independently performs technical duties in support of PERB’s IT infrastructure. This includes analyzing, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems and services across desktop support, server administration, networking, and software applications. The ITS I plays a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of PERB’s IT environment.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

1. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
2. Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
3. Familiarity with or working knowledge of SQL or other relational database systems.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Strong analytical skills and experience resolving problems or issues.
6. Ability to develop and maintain excellent customer service.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
8. Ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively, both orally and in writing.
9. Ability to coach and mentor staff.
10. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
11. In-depth knowledge in SAM, SIMM, NIST, and ITIL.
12. Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or Microsoft certifications.
