Job Description

• Provide instruction to clients on skills and equipment to improve their navigation abilities.
• Interview clients to assess their needs and desired outcomes and develop lesson plans to achieve those outcomes.
• Create structured scenarios to identify clients' abilities and limitations and discuss findings with them.
• Must be able to work with clients in their homes, community and facility.
• Ability to commute to client's homes/community in their own vehicle.
• Document clients' skill progression and final status in agency software.
• Supervise and mentor interns.
• Coordinate client and staff schedules to optimize lesson planning.
• Orient clients to the BVRS facility.
• Maintain required certifications.
• Provide sighted guide training to staff and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in orientation and mobility.
• Preferred experience working with individuals with vision loss or other disabilities.
• ACVREP Certification.
• Valid driver's license.
