Job Description

Rate of Pay: $17.00 - $19.41
Status: Open Until Filled

The employee is responsible for greeting visitors to the exhibit, collecting entrance fees, offering general information to walk-in visitors, scheduled groups, and telephone callers. Provides exhibit information and answers questions. The employee performs salesclerk services for admissions and gift shop. Assists with annual and other special events and periodically assists with facility rentals. Must have knowledge of Gone With the Wind (book and film).

 
  • Greets exhibit visitors, collects entrance fees; provides general exhibit information to walk-in visitors and phone inquiries.
  • Performs salesclerk services for the gift shop to include collecting payment, giving change and issuing receipts. Performs opening and/or closing procedures.
  • Accounts for all monies received daily and reconciliation of receipts at the end of shift. Submits daily records of cash receipts to the Exhibit Coordinator.
  • Maintains the museum, restrooms and exhibit area by performing light cleaning and dusting as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications:

 
  • High School diploma or GED and a year of related work experience.     
  • Must have good business math skills and ability to give and receive change.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and calculator, as well as PC Computer.
  • Knowledge of Excel a plus.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends as required.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills to include ability to interact with the public and present a positive image of the city and the museum.
  • Must be bondable and have a satisfactory background check.
