What we are looking for are technical experts that can validate/tweak our initial design decisions and then help us to initiate the implementations. Below are some key areas we are looking for assistance. While these are the specific items we are looking at right now, I can see additional items materializing but they will most likely be related.

 

Snowflake:

• We are doing a medallion implementation to have an integrated and an analytic performant representation of the data. We want a Dev, Stage and Prod environment along with a bronze, silver, and gold in each environment.
• In our POC we used SQL notebooks and stages to pull in and transform data from an ADLS2 storage account.
  • Full table pull and swapped transient tables.
  • We are considering snowpipe but are concerned about the full pull approach and CDC is not an option right now.
  • We would like to incorporate dbt in our pipelines
  • For reference Openflow is not available in the Gov Cloud today.
  • Developing templates for engineers to cut paste and minimize coding when creating new pipelines.
• With respect to dbt:
  • Transformations
  • Code testing
  • Github integration and progression to production
• We need assistance on setting up best approach to PII and Financial data i.e., segregate vs mask.
• Roles and Grants, is our strategy sound in these areas. 

 

Power BI Premium

 

• Complete setup and management of environment
• Managing/segregating Dev, Stage, & Prod
• Model management with respect to refresh
• Privileges, Access and permissions
• Any other things we should have in place before going live
