Job Description

We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for aSoftware Applications Developer. This position is 100% remote. Pay Rate: $90.00 - $98.00 **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.** Seeking an experienced Java Developer and AWS expert to join our dynamic Agile teams delivering software solutions to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In this role you will develop and maintain robust, scalable, and reliable Java SpringBoot applications within an automated DevSecOps AWS Environment. Candidates will also need to have a strong background and extensive experience migrating applications to AWS. The main function of a Software Applications Developer is to design, develop, and implement applications using general languages and technologies (e.g. - C#, C++, HTML) to support business requirements. Job Responsibilities: Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications. Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution. Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner. Job Responsibilities: + Design, develop, maintain, and deliver highly scalable and reliable software using Java. + Help the team with migrating large, complex Java applications from on-premises to AWS cloud. + Develop and deploy Java applications on AWS using best practices and cloud-native services ⁠Ensure compliance with AWS security and compliance standards (FedRAMP, HIPAA, etc.) + Develop and maintain Terraform CI/CD pipelines integrated with automated testing, code quality, and security scans. + Optimize application performance, scalability, and cost efficiency on AWS + Plan and implement automation and orchestration tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning. + Collaborate with other engineers and product owners to analyze, design, and implement user stories using an agile methodology. + Write high-quality software code that complies with design specifications and meets development and support requirements. + Maintain regular contact with customers. Respond to customer requests promptly. Participate in process reviews to ensure the highest level of process design and process understanding prior to automation. + Tasks may include developing data models for optimal performance in databases ; designing data structures for data interchange ; developing metadata structures including dictionaries, taxonomies and ontologies. Use a variety of tools to perform unit testing, automated builds, and source control. + Participate as a member in Agile teams , and work with other team member to review, estimate and elaborate user stories, participate in sprint reviews, demos and retrospectives. Basic Hiring Criteria: + Minimum 10 years of work experience in software development with a Bachelor's degree or 8 years of work experience with Master's degree. + Hands on experience in SprintBoot, Spring/JPA and Hibernate/MyBatis ORM frameworks, JBoss/Fuse Camel/AMQ. + Experience with developing solutions with AWS Services, i.e. ECS, Lamda, S3, SQS, SNS, ELB, ALB, Aurora RDS. + Hands on experience CI /CD principles and DevSecOps tools: GitLab, GitLab Pipelines, Gitlab Runner, Sonarqube, Apache Maven, Tenable, NPM, Nexus Lifecycle. + Experience with containerization and IaaS tools: Docker, Fargate, Terraform, Ansible. + Experience with monitoring tools such as Systems Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, Instana, Splunk + Must also have Unit Testing experience. + Experience in at least one of the following configuration management tools: GitLab, Subversion and build automation tools such as Ant, Maven, Build Forge or similar. + Ideal candidates will have experience with Cloud Migration, Implementation, AWS Service , System Integration capability . + AWS certifications or Java certifications are a plus. + Experience in Oracle and other RDBMS. + Experience working in a fast-paced Agile Environment and familiarity with tools like Rally and JIRA. + Development experience in needed language or technology (e.g. - C#, C++, HTML) Hands on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large scale projects from end-to-end Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC. + Key Skills: JAVA, SQL, Oracle, Web services (REST Based), Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate, JSON, XML, JQuery, Java Script , Splunk, Open Stack, AWS, Tomcat, SOAP, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, JBoss Application Server, AWS Services (e.g., ECS, EC2, AMQ, EFS, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Glacier, Terraforms, API Gateway, CloudSearch, Elastic Load Balancing, etc.).
