Program Summary:
Our Dallas Youth Workforce Program serves youth who are either survivors of or at high risk for commercial sexual exploitation by providing workforce training, work exposure, mentorship, and case management to help them build a career plan and achieve their goals. Nomi Network is working in partnership with the Dallas County Juvenile Department. The program also includes community expansion efforts, where we engage with and support youth in the broader Dallas community who face similar vulnerabilities, ensuring they have access to the same opportunities for growth, healing, and empowerment.
Position Summary:
The Workforce Trainer will have the opportunity to join our dedicated, mission-motivated program team as a skilled and engaging facilitator who will be responsible for conducting Nomi Network’s workforce training which addresses financial literacy, job readiness, navigating workplace challenges, confidence-building, and goal setting. The Workforce Trainer will also adapt the curriculum and take on new clients and training sessions due to program expansion.
Location: Dallas, Texas - Hybrid schedule reporting to the Dallas office: 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 800 Dallas, TX 75247 three days/ week.
Reports to: Dallas Program Manager.
Schedule: M-F, full-time, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed; flexibility required to accommodate program and event schedules.
Status: Exempt.
Salary: $57,000-61,000.
Travel: Employee is expected to travel within the DFW area for both program delivery at DCJC and other sites as needed, and for events and partnership-related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite training sessions each week with youth in the afternoon/evening times.
- Teach engaging lessons utilizing Nomi Network’s workforce curriculum.
- Help clients develop career plans, including short-term and long-term goals for education and work as a part of workforce training.
- Develop and/or modify Workforce Training-related curriculum.
- Maintain documentation of services provided, including case notes, time sheets, and attendance records to ensure compliance with organization standards.
- Collaborate with Workforce Trainer and Employment Pathways Specialist to ensure smooth transition of clients between workforce training and case management phases of the program.
- Enable program expansion in the near future by adapting Nomi Network’s current workforce curriculum to enable expanded programming to a new client population and begin training that population.
- Work with the Nomi Network program team to assess the needs of clients as well as the effectiveness of the program and adapt or build upon the existing curriculum where needed.
- Work with the DCJD team to assess the needs of the clients and request technical or admin support for facilities and resources at LRTC.
- Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies related to workforce (American Job Centers, Community Based Organizations, and youth programming).
- Actively manage the classroom as needed to facilitate learning and address disruptions.
- Implement basic assessments to monitor trainee progress through the curriculum.
- Support Nomi Network HQ team with fundraising needs such as donor visits and clients’ progress.
- Develop systems to monitor and ensure clients are performing their responsibilities according to the training.
- Create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment.
- Able to deliver and motivate program participants through effective training methodologies both in in-person and virtual learning environments.
- Proactively work with the Program Manager to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Program Outreach Associate to cultivate and strengthen partnerships with local educational institutions, training providers, and workforce development organizations.
- Work in close coordination with the Dallas Program Manager to evaluate and revise existing workforce training curriculum to ensure it remains responsive to client needs and program goals.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience teaching/training in a formal setting.
- Ability to work in a developing program and contribute to process-building efforts.
- Passion for supporting individuals in overcoming barriers to success.
- Experience working with high-risk or underresourced populations.
- Reliable access to a working vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Reliable access to wifi for work-related purposes given the hybrid nature of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish-speaking, bilingual.
- Experience working in workforce development.
- Experience working with youth or young adults.
Physical Requirements:
- The position requires proof of a negative TB test to enter the training facility.
- The position functions in a normal office environment that requires the ability to successfully interface with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
- Sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally climbing stairs are typical activities in this role.
- Talking (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word) and hearing (perceiving the nature of sounds) are required.
- Clarity of vision (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print) is required.
- The ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs is required.
- This job will require the ability to drive a vehicle for work-related purposes, so the ability to drive a car is required. This includes sitting, gripping, foot action, neck movements, elbow movements, reaching, and wrist movements.
